This first clip from “Tusk” gives us a chilling taste of Kevin Smith’s new horror dramedy. Based on a story from Kevin Smith’s SModcast, the film stars Justin Long as a podcaster held captive by a walrus-obsessed seafarer. If this clip is any promise of what’s to come, fans can expect one of the strangest horror movies of the year with enough Canada jokes to last them through awards season.

The premise was spawned from an ad discovered by Smith that offered free lodging for anyone agreeing to dress up as a walrus. After telling an hour-long hypothetical story based on the ad on his podcast, Smith called his fans to tweet either #WalrusYes if they wanted to see it made into a film or #WalrusNo if they did not. Naturally, his followers were overwhelmingly pro-walrus.

“Tusk” premieres tomorrow at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in theaters September 19. Check out the clip below:
