There are plenty of movies to see in theaters this weekend, from Steven Spielberg’s “Ready Player One” to Lynn Shelton’s “Outside In.” But for many people in the film industry, the time has come to anticipate the movies right around the corner, as the specter of the Cannes Film Festival looms large. The May gathering has yet to announce its lineup, but the media is already worked up about reported changes to the press screening schedule that have baffled anyone unfamiliar with the festival. So…what’s the big deal?
