You Can Watch President Obama's SXSW 2016 Keynote Speech Live Right Here

Not in Austin, Texas for SXSW? Not to worry, we’ve got you covered, especially when it comes to arguably the annual festival’s biggest event: A historic Keynote conversation starring President Barack Obama.

For the Keynote interview, President Obama will sit down with Texas Tribune editor-in-chief Evan Smith “for a conversation about civic engagement in the 21st Century before an audience of creators, early adopters and entrepreneurs who are defining the future of our connected lives. The President will call on the audience to apply their ideas and talents to make technology work for us – especially when it comes to tackling big challenges like increasing participation in the political process and fighting climate change.”

The best part? You don’t have to be in Austin to check it out. SXSW is live streaming select events this year — including Obama’s Keynote, which is taking place today at 2:30PM CT, 3:30PM ET — and you can watch it live up above. Until the Keynote kicks off, SXSW will be streaming other events, so not to worry, the president will be live on that stream as scheduled. Until then, enjoy everything else that SXSW has to offer!

First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver a Keynote of her own on March 16 as part of the festival’s Music section, where she will discuss her Let Girls Learn initiative. Her Keynote will be open to all SXSW Music, Film, Gold, and Platinum registrants. Live streaming plans for that event have not yet been announced.
