“It’s like he wants to get inside me — there’s nothing of me left.” Tippi Hedren (Sienna Miller) gets wooed and menaced by Alfred Hitchcock (Toby Jones) in these two teasers for TV movie “The Girl,” which premieres on HBO on Saturday, October 20th at 9pm. The BBC co-production is directed by Julian Jarrold (“Becoming Jane,” “Brideshead Revisited”) from a screenplay by Gwyneth Hughes and is based on Hedren’s accounts of her time working with the legendary director, which are as you can tell from the videos below not very flattering. For more information on Hedren’s perspective, check out Women and Hollywood’s coverage of Hedren at the Television Critics Association, promoting “The Girl.”
“Hitchcock,” another biopic about the “Vertigo” filmmaker, is slated for theaters next year — directed by Sacha Gervasi of “Anvil: The Story of Anvil,” the film stars Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock, Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh and Jessica Biel as Vera Miles.
